I’m a simple guy. I like good food, people, and places. I was born and raised in North Carolina, living in five different cities here by the age of 18. I’ve been in the Raleigh area for the past 24 years, and consider this my home. I live with my wife Candace in northeastern Wake county now, just a bit outside of Raleigh proper. On a side note, this cross-sectional background from all over North Carolina gives me the unique ability to claim myself as a BBQ expert, and any perceived argument by you or mention of Texas, Kansas, Alabama (mayonnaise, really?) would be totally inappropriate and cause you to lose all credibility in my book instantly. So, let’s keep the also-rans and beef out of the BBQ conversation.
I’m a proud alumnus of NC State University and East Carolina University. I do love college sports and find myself a bit too involved in the watching process sometimes.
What do I do?
I run a phenomenal non-profit that serves over half a million people across the state of North Carolina each year. The high-efficiency, high-impact work that we do is incredibly important to the people of the state of North Carolina, and I am proud to be a part of that work.
In my spare time, I’m usually sampling some of the great local restaurants North Carolina has to offer, or can sometimes be found trying to craft the next greatest beer recipe in my lab/kitchen.
The never-ending creative process around problem solving is really what drives me. I enjoy finding new solutions for existing problems that help people … plain and simple.
How do you get in touch?
I am always open for new collaborations, partnerships, ventures and ideas. If you want to get in touch with me, just contact me here, and let’s set something up.
